Aufgaben

The Area Manager role is responsible for leading a defined area of stores to deliver retail and service expectations through inspirational leadership, commercial acumen, striving for excellence, creating a Charlotte Tilbury culture, and delivering against profit objectives.

The successful candidate must have previous experience working in a retail management role, be a passionate people manager, highly numerate, target-driven, commercially savvy, and excited about working in the beauty industry.

Anforderungen

Commercial Leadership of the Area

  • Accountable for the retail forecasts and performance for the area
  • Identify and execute opportunities to drive brand awareness, performance and market share within the area
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Operational Marketing, Commercial, and Store Leaders to unlock opportunities for Charlotte Tilbury
  • Set standards across the estate for executional excellence, supporting the development of processes and working cross-functionally to improve brand presentation and NPD moments in store
  • Work with the commercial team to shape the P&L of the region, from driving retail performance, to availability, through to investment choices, to deliver the best possible return on investment
  • Identify and recruit industry-leading talent; working collaboratively with Recruitment, Store Leadership, and talent pooling to minimise time to hire
  • Set clear and consistent direction which reflects business-wide priorities, and the local requirements of the region; follow-up to ensure delivery against expectations set
  • Motivate and inspire the team to deliver and exceed their targets and KPIs
  • Maintain a regular skill scan of the team to identify high potential and performance challenges; implement development and improvement plans as appropriate
  • Use appraisal process to formally evaluate performance, set objectives, and identify training needs across the region
  • Ensure clear succession plan within the region

Build High-Performing Teams to Achieve Retail and Service Expectations

  •  Identify and recruit industry-leading talent; working collaboratively with Recruitment, Store Leadership, and talent pooling to minimise time to hire
  • Set clear and consistent direction which reflects business-wide priorities, and the local requirements of the region; follow-up to ensure delivery against expectations set
  • Motivate and inspire the team to deliver and exceed their targets and KPIs

Effective Cross-Functional Working

  • Training:
    • Develop and deliver against the service strategy, maintaining service excellence across the area
    • Work in close partnership with Area trainer aligning on strategy to delivery the best results
    • Ensure all new starters receive New Starter Training within eight weeks of joining the business, and agree a training follow-up plan with the Business Manager
    • Support the development of the Business Manager commercial induction and training programme
  • Commercial Team:
    • Provide regular insight into competitor activity and retail environment to influence commercial activity and planning with the retailers
    • Support the preparation of forecasts and NPD expectations for the area
    • Operational Marketing:
    • Ability to translate trade marketing and commercial plans into compelling and localised plans for defined area, with support of the Commercial and Operational Marketing teams
  • Retail Operations:
    • Recommend realistic operational and service led improvements to influence positive impact on customer service in all stores
    • Manage and improve stock efficiency; flagging any inventory challenges and working with the Stockroom manager, National Accounts team and Customer supply chain to optimise supply
  • HR & Recruitment o Maintain regular contact with the HR team to proactively manage any ER issues in the region and support the training of Business Managers to lead all ER in their own teams o Work closely with Recruitment to ensure a clear and mutual understanding of role profile, priority vacancies, and work to reduce time to hire across the are

Proactive Cost Management:

  • Be accountable for the overall shape of the region P&L, including delivery of retail and all cost centres: staffing, T&S, testers/samples
  • Monitor, manage, and invest staffing resource to deliver the best possible return on investment
  • Maintain close management of T&S expenditure within the area, ensuring that all costs are required by the business, meet the required approvals, tracked in the reports provided, and available for review with Finance at all times

Reporting Relationships:

  • Reporting to the Retail Sales Manager

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Fluent English and local language; additional languages advantageous
  • Must be able to travel in country and abroad when necessary
  • Previous experience in a similar field management or multi-site role, with proven experience of building talent and managing P&Ls
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing priorities
